Jr. NBA LAU League

Jr. NBA Partners with LAU, Bringing the League to Lebanon.

The LAU Jr. NBA League is an exciting new partnership between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Lebanese American University (LAU), to create a competitive league for boys and girls under the age of 14.

The league features 30 schools – each simulating a team from the NBA – who will compete in an eight-game season, culminating in single-game elimination playoffs to determine the Jr. NBA Lebanon champions.

The league will mirror the NBA, complete with a Draft Event and Finals, leveraging the excitement of the NBA and LAU brands to inspire and engage more young people to participate in basketball through a fun, positive first experience.

The league will also promote common NBA and LAU values, while encouraging physical activity and healthy living.

What the league needs:

Enthusiastic staff, players, dedicated coaches, fair referees and supportive fans.

Efficiency:

Every minute on the court is valuable. Players, coaches, referees, fans and the league organizers have to pitch their best efforts in making the league as enjoyable and hassle-free as possible. With players’ cooperation, coaches’ team management, referees’ fairness and organizers’ dedication.

Punctuality:

“If you are early, you are on time…if you are on time, you are late!”. Show up early to every practice, game or meeting. This demonstrates your commitment to the team, and sets a good example of responsibility for young players.

Accidents will Happen… Stay Calm and Be Prepared:

Injuries, referee mistakes, and coaching errors happen during the games. Everyone should understand that mistakes are inevitable and should remain calm and be considerate until a situation is resolved.
